Staffers padlock Telecom director's office
BIRATNAGAR, JUN 14 -
Nepal Telecom staffers padlocked the office of Dev Narayan Yadav, director of the Biratnagar-based regional office, on Wednesday accusing him of financial irregularities .
The agitated employees accused Yadav of misusing budget while constructing mobile towers and purchasing land in various places of Morang, including Bahundangi.
They said though it costs only Rs 37,000 to construct a mobile tower, Yadav received Rs 105,000 for each tower by submitting fake bills.
Yadav, however, denied the accusation and claimed that the staffers padlocked his office over a promotion and transfer row.
Meanwhile, Jivanratna Shakya and Sudhir Aryal, deputy managing directors at the Telecom's central office, reached Biratnagar on Thursday and started an investigation into the matter.
