Dahal, Regmi discuss CA poll preparations

KATHMANDU, JUN 29 - UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal met Chairman of the Interim Election Council Khil Raj Regmi at the latter's residence in Baluwatar on Saturday and discussed the issues related to the forthcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) elections.

On the occasion, Chairman Regmi said that the government would move ahead with the ongoing preparations of the CA election and urged Chairman Dahal to extend full support to the government saying that he was the leader of the biggest political party.

Dahal's aide Shiva Khakurel said that Chairman Dahal took Chairman Regmi's views very positively and expressed commitment that his party was ready to extend full support to the government in the electoral process and give political outlet to the country.

Saying that his party was already fully devoted to the election preparations, former Prime Minister Dahal expressed his belief that the government should not have any hindrances in carrying out the election on the slated date.

The meeting between the two also discussed about the ways to woo the disgruntled political parties on the election process so as to ensure the CA polls.
