41 parties warn of agitation
The disgruntled 41 political parties have taken serious exception to the preparations being made by the major four parties to announce the date for Constituent Assembly (CA) elections without consulting them.
The alliance of 33 political parties led by the CPN-Maoist and the Sanghiya Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha, another front comprising Sanghiya Samajwadi Party and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Nepal, have warned of launching agitation if the government announce the date for Constituent Assembly (CA) elections.
“We have strong reservations over the preparations to announce election date by avoiding us,” said the dissenting leaders at a joint press conference organised in the Capital on Thursday. “They have demanded the major parties should announce the election date by addressing the demands of the agitating parties,” said the leaders.
The parties have been agitating ever since the formation of Interim Election Government under sitting Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi. They have been demanding for the formation of a partisan government to conduct the CA elections.
