Prez ‘to go abroad’ for treatment
KATHMANDU, JUN 16 -
The government is planning to fly President Dr Ram Baran Yadav abroad for medical treatment after tests on Saturday showed some ‘scars’ in his large intestine.
According to President’s Press Advisor Rajendra Dahal, Yadav will probably be flown to Japan for further diagnosis and treatment. Dahal said Yadav is a long-time gastrointestinal patient and during his regular check-up on Saturday doctors suggested the President be taken abroad for treatment. Dr Sashi Sharma, gastroenterologist at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital and who has been attending to Yadav, said that an ultra-sound test had returned a negative result but a CT-Scan test showed ‘some problems’ in the large intestine. Health Minister Bidhyadhar Mallik said they have started communication with a hospital abroad.
