Kantipur journo bags Madan Bhandari Education award
KATHMANDU, JUN 28 - Kantipur Daily journalist Anmolmani Poudel has been awarded with the Madan Bhandari Education Award, established by the Madan Bhandari Memorial College starting this year.
Amid a programme organised here in Kathmandu on Friday, culture expert Satya Mohan Joshi and founder of the College and CPN-UML Vice-Chairperson Bidya Bhandari, jointly gave away the award to journalist Poudel. The award carries a purse of Rs. 25,000.
A committee was formed under the coordination of former Vice- Chancellor of the Tribhuvan University Dr. Kamal Krishna Joshi with President of the Federation of the Nepali Journalists Shiva Gaunle and College Chief Chaitanya Sharma as the other members of the committee who selected the winner.
The award was given away on the occasion of the 12th anniversary of the College and 62nd birth anniversary of former UML General Secretary Madan Bhandari .
Also during the programme, leader Bhandari said that the state should increase investment in education sector and stressed on the need of political stability for educational development.
