Koirala, Deuba discuss design NC chief urges parties to participate in CA polls

Nepali Congress senior leade Sher Bahadur Deuba on Saturday urged Party President Sushil Koirala to make preparations for the Constituent Assembly elections scheduled for November 19.
Briefing Koirala on his India visit , Deuba said the southern neighbour had pledged support to Nepal in holding the polls. In the meeting, Deuba said he will hold talks with the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Nepal and the Federal Socialist Party Nepal to bring them on board the election process.
Deuba, who returned from India on Friday, has voiced his willingness to hold talks with the parties opposed to the second CA polls in present conditions. The two leaders also discussed the party’s election policy and strategy.
It’s time for the party to devise its election strategy, which the top leaders discussed for an hour, said NC leader Bimalendra Nidhi, who attended the meeting.
At a programme in the Capital on Saturday, Koirala said elections should be held at any cost in November for ending political and constitutional crisis in the country.
He said that the only way to protect democracy and nationalism was election. Claiming that conspiracies were rife to derail the proposed CA election , the NC chief called on media outlets to create an environment to conducive the polls.
“People are desperate to cast their votes and I urge all the parties to participate in the CA election ,” Koirala said.
