Power outage 3.5 hrs a day
KATHMANDU, JUL 16 -
Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has decided to decrease average load shedding hours to 3.5 hours a day to be effective from Tuesday. Earlier, it was five hours a day.
The increase in water level in the rivers feeding the major hydropower projects in the country with the continuous rainfall has contributed to a slight increase in the power supply in recent times, NEA informed.
With no major hydropower projects in the pipeline, consumers across the country are unlikely to get a full respite from power shortage, particularly during the winter at least for the next five years.
