Roundtable talks in haste will be absurd: Yadav
PARSA, JUL 16 - Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Chairman Upendra Yadav has claimed that a roundtable conference held in a whimsical manner will only deepen the crisis facing the nation. He said such talks convened only for formality will be meaningless.
"For organising a roundtable conference, the objective, legitimacy and terms of reference of such talks should be clearly defined before convening it," Yadav said while speaking at a press meet in Birgunj on Tuesday. "It should be ensured that the decision made by the roundtable will be implemented," he added.
Yadav was of the view that the round table talks should also complete the remaining 10 percent of works which was not accomplished by the erstwhile Constituent Assembly.
Brushing aside the possibility of formation of alliance with Mohan Baidhya-led CPN-Maoist, Yadav remarked that his party would not participate in the election even if the CPN-Maoist opts for joining the election process.
Conduction of election by deploying army and without meeting the demands of disgruntled parties would push the country towards confrontation, he warned.
