Election impossible without CPN-Maoist: Chand
SARLAHI, JUN 13 -
CPN-Maoist leader Netra Bikram Chand has claimed that upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) election would not be possible without the participation of CPN-Maoist . He claimed that the election conducted by four parties will be identical to the one conducted by the former king.
"Four parties are pushing the countries towards regression. We will not take part in election held under current circumstances," Chand said, speaking to media persons at Hariwan, Sarlahi on Thursday. "Election without our party cannot be imagined."
The formation of government under the sitting chief justice, appointment of controversial former secretary Lokman Singh Karki, who was found guilty of popular movement, as the chief of anti-graft body, among others, indicates the government’s intention to invite regression in the country, said the CPN-Maoist leader.
"It is not just our party but also the common people are also not satisfied by such decisions of the four parties," Chand said. "Dissatisfaction among general public doesn’t bode well," he added. He said that his party has initiated the campaign to make the people aware against regression.
In a different context, leader Chand said that revolt is a normal process if the authorities take wrong steps to fuel public outrage. "The growing dissatisfaction among general public might result in anything. Arms are only the secondary means," Chand said.
