Elections to suit every party impossible: Sitaula
KATHMANDU, JUN 20 - Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula has remarked that the second election to Constituent Assembly (CA) will be held on November 19.
Speaking at a press meet organised by Dhading district chapter of Nepal Press Union on Thursday, leader Sitaula expressed his confidence that the poll-opposing parties would come to elections. “All the parties are seeking their own comfort and elections to suit their interests which is not possible,” said the NC leader.
In response to a media query, Sitaula said his party is not following the agenda of UCPN (Maoist). “Why would the Maoists make the agenda of overthrowing their own Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai?” he counter questioned. He further said that the UCPN (Maoist) put for a cunning proposal of forming a new government under the sitting Chief Justice.
The NC leader said the disputes within his party had been settled and that would be completely resolved till the election time. He said his party is in favour of elections which is indispensable to safeguard democracy.
Sitaula, who arrived here to address a condolence assembly to mark the 15th day of the demise of NC Dhading district leader Hasiprasad Simkhada, urged the NC leaders to tread on the right path shown by late Simkhada.
