Four parties dancing to India's tune: Gajurel
CPN-Maoist Vice Chairman CP Gajurel has warned that another conflict will be inevitable in the nation once the date for Constituent Assembly is announced.
Speaking at a programme organised by Reporters Club in the Capital on Thursday, Gajurel said, "Announcement of election date amounts to commencement of another conflict. The syndicate of four parties is preparing for the same."
Gajurel said that India was pressurising Nepali leaders to conduct CA polls by November 30 by inviting various leaders, including Puspa Kamal Dahal, Sher Bahadur Deuba, KP Oli and Madhav Kumar Nepal for a visit. He claimed that the leaders of four parties were dancing to the tunes of India in the name of elections to appease the southern neighbour. He claimed that the election conducted without the participation of around a dozen parties including the CPN-Maoist would be meaningless.
"Let's not conduct election just to satisfy India and push the nation into conflict. We will punish those who dare to conduct election forcefully under the status quo and can’t accept that," Gajurel said.
Gajurel went on to claim that the current chief justice-led government cannot conduct election. He was of the view that the November polls should be deferred and should be conducted in March after holding a round table conference.
Saying that his party has concluded that faction of Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Baburam Bhattari is traitor, Gajurel also ruled out the possibility of unification with the UCPN (Maoist). "The unification chapter has closed," he said.
