UML urges govt to send relief for flood victims

KATHMANDU, JUN 17 - The CPN-UML has demanded the government make swift arrangements for sending rescue teams and delivery of relief package to the victims of Darchula flood .

Around four dozens houses including three government offices have been swept away due to flooding in Mahakali river caused by incessant rainfall in the Mahakali river. District Forest Office, Education Training Centre, and District Hospital, among other buildings, have been swept by the flood.

“Expressing our deep sympathy to the residents of Darchula, who now are facing the brunt of natural calamity, our party demands the government make necessary arrangements for their rescue and relief package,” read a statement issued by UML Secretary Bishnu Poudel.
