CA polls impossible sans oppn parties: Gyawali
KAKADBHITTA, JUN 20 -
CPN-UML Politburo member Pradeep Gyawali has ruled out the possibility of holding the fresh Constituent Assembly (CA) election by ignoring the distrungled parties.
Addressing an annual general assembly of Jhapa chapter of Press Chautari in Birtamod on Thursday, Gyawali said, "It is like bidding conflict by keeping the opposing parties at bay."
He opined that the government should be ready to exhibit maximum flexibility to take opposition parties into confidence.
"The chairman of election council should also be ready to table his resignation to convince them," Gyawali added.
Also on the occasion, Gyawali said that UCPN (Maoist) recent activities have raised doubts over its participation in the CA polls .
"The UCPN (M) is willing to come to polls as per self interest," Gyawali stated.
He said there should not be 601 members in the new CA.
