VP Jha holds talks with his Chinese counterpart

 Vice President Parmananda Jha , who is on an official visit to China, held talks with his Chinese counterpart, Li Yuanchao , in Beijing on Friday.

On the occasion, the Vice Presidents of the two neighboring countries exchanged their views on various topics of bilateral interests and concerns including strengthening Nepal-China ties.

Also during the meeting, Vice President Jha expressed his appreciation on China's help and support for Nepal's socio-economic development over the years, and reiterated that Nepali government would firmly pursue the One-China policy and strengthen bilateral cooperation and exchanges to promote friendship between Nepal and China, the Embassy of China stated in a press release here on Saturday.

Vice President Jha had earlier reached the Kunming province of China on Tuesday to participate in the First China-South Asia Exposition. He is accompanied by his spouse Nabina Jha along with other delegates.

The Chinese Vice President said that China and Nepal are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers, and the bilateral relations between the two countries have maintained healthy and steady since the establishment of the diplomatic ties.

China adopts the policy of promoting friendship and partnership with neighbours and tries her best to make her development benefit them, Li said, adding that China was willing to join hands with Nepal to deepen traditional friendship, enhance mutually beneficial cooperation, expand exchanges in various fields and push forward Comprehensive Partnership of Cooperation featuring everlasting friendship.

Vice President Jha is scheduled to return home tomorrow.
