Three members of a family perish in Jhapa fire

BHADRAPUR, DEC 29 -
Three members of the same family perished in a fire that broke out all of a sudden in a house in Dudhe bazaar of Satashidham-7, Jhapa.

In the mishap that took place at around 10 pm Saturday night Manika Bhattarai,36, and her 12-year-old son Nitesh and seven-year-old younger son Nishan died on the spot, according to the Area Police Office, Jhiljhile.

Originally from Darbesha of Morang, the Bhattarai family was living in rent in the two-storey wooden house owned by Ganesh Bajgain. Manika's husband is reportedly in the gulf on a foreign employment.

The fire was put out after a joint effort of the local and police at around 11:30 pm.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the fire broke out from the candle that had been lit in the house due to power outage.

The house was almost completely gutted including all goods inside it. RSS
