Bhattarai rues failure to enforce his commitments
KATHMANDU, DEC 13 - UCPN (Maoist) leader and former prime minister Baburam Bhattarai has said that he was unable to enforce his ideology and commitments due to the lack of his own will power and institutional strength.
"Personally, I have raised relevant issues on prosperity and development time and again. This earned me decent amount of public trust as well. However, I couldn't take control over my own will power at the disposal of feeble strength of my own party," expressed Bhattarai at the social networking website Facebook, "For instance, on the night of the dissolution of earlier CA in Jestha 14, 2069, I had thought about extending the deadline by imposing an insurgency although it meant taking the blame myself, and I did announce it but I had to step back under immense pressures not only from opposition political leaders but also from my own colleagues. This was the biggest mistake of my life and I very humbly accept it."
Stating that the primary agendas of Maoist revolution being government with high integrity towards social and cultural transformation and development, he said that his party could not be distinguishable from the contemporary political powers and leaders.
The former premier further said that he will move forward coordinating with people, institution and parties with similar ideology within and outside the party. Leader Bhattarai stated that national independence and inclusive nationalism, inclusive democracy and inclusive development are his personal political commitments .
