Baby girl without anus fighting for life

A baby girl born without anus four days back is fighting for life at local Tarakhola VDC-8.

Twenty-year-old Harikala Subedi, the wife of Hiralal Subedi, of Karimela had given birth to the baby girl. The baby 's parents took her home from the Dhawalagiri Zonal Hospital where the girl was born, after the health of the new-born deteriorated and they lost hope that her health would improve.

The baby girl has various bodily deformities and is physically weak and frail. She lacks anus, has a weak backbone and the urinary organ is also located under the armpit, the newborn's father said. The two legs are also glued together. He said they came to know of the deformities only after she was born.

He said the baby even did not suckle milk from her mother's breast for two days but started doing so only from Wednesday. Although the baby is urinating, it cannot pass out stool and the bowel is swollen.
