Gas tanker catches fire after plunging into Trishuli


DHADING, DEC 11 - A tanker carrying Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has met with an accident at Jogimara along the Prithvi Highway in Dhading on Wednesday.

The tanker caught fire after it skidded off the road and plunged into the Trishuli River. The fire has not yet come under control as the police have restricted the public and vehicular movement in a range of one kilometer distance from the site, fearing possible explosion.

The accident took place at around 2 in the afternoon. Driver and conductor of the tanker have been rescued alive.

There were some 1400 LPG cylinders in the tanker. Police have been facing difficulty in putting out the fire as there is no availability of fire brigade in Dhading district.
