HLPC meet ends inconclusively
KATHMANDU, DEC 11 -
A meeting of High-Level Political Committee ( HLPC ) held at the Office of the Peace Trust Fund in Babarmahal ended inconclusively on Wednesday.
The meeting made no headway after the political parties stick to their individual stance.
It has been reported that parties failed to forge consensus on UCPN (Maoist) demand to form an independent probe panel to look into alleged poll-rigging in the November 19 election.
The UCPN (Maoist) and Madhes-based parties stick to their demand whereas the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML claimed that they can not accept it as forming an independent probe panel will question the whole election procedure.
Emerging from the meeting, NC Vice President Ram Chandra Poudel said they cannot be positive over the demand put forth by the Maoist.
