Man accused in murder of Maoist leader arrested
SIRAHA, DEC 12 - Police have arrested a youth accused in the murder of UCPN (Maoist) district level leader after four years of the incident.
Khushilal Thakur, 30, of Ramnagar, Mirchaiya VDC-7 in Siraha , was arrested on Wednesday, police said. He was on the run from the district for long.
Thakur has been accused of killing Ram Ayodhi Yadav, of Panbari from Chandrodayapur VDC in the district, said Naresh Raj Subedi, Police Inspector at the Area Police Office, Mirchaiya. Yadav was Mithila State Committee member of the UCPN (Maoist).
Police inspector Subedi said another case has been filed against Thakur for attempted shooting against Shiva Ram Yadav of Majhuliya VDC-5. Thakur is also found involved in different cases of abduction and looting in the eastern Terai.
Police arrested Thakur on Wednesday from Kalyanpur Bazaar of the district following a tip-off. Thakur was in the most-wanted list of the police. RSS
