HLPC meet ends inconclusively
KATHMANDU, DEC 14 -
A meeting of High Level Political Committee ( HLPC ) held at the the Office of the Peace Trust Fund in Babarmahal ended inconclusively on Saturday.
The meeting failed to make any headway after the political parties stick to their claims on whether to form an independent panel as demanded by the UCPN (Maoist) to look into the alleged poll rigging during the Constituent Assembly (CA) election held on November 19.
It has been learnt that the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML failed to agree on the demands put forth by the UCPN (M) and Madhesh-based parties.
The next meeting has been called at 4 on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the NC and the UML have proposed to form a parliamentary committee to look into the matter.
However, the UCPN (M) has been demanding to form the independent committee before giving final shape to the CA.
