Security worsening: MJF-N
KATHMANDU, JUL 28 -
Expressing concern over the worsening law and order situation in the country, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Nepal (MJF-N) on Saturday submitted an eight-point memorandum to the government demanding security to its leaders and cadres.
After submitting the memorandum to Chairman of Interim Election Government Khilraj Regmi, MFJ-N Chairman Upendra Yadav said that the Constituent Assembly (CA) election would not be possible under the current security arrangement.
“The government should provide security to our central and district committee level leaders and party offices across the country,” said Yadav.
As the November 19 CA election nears, violence has increased in the terai districts with MFJ-N leaders being frequently targeted by the different groups. MJF-N leader Rama Shankar Mandal was gunned down few days ago near the police station in Birgunj.
Similarly, on July 25, an unidentified group attacked party’s Mahotari office secretary Pragas Sah. The party has also demanded formation of a judicial commission to investigate the attacks on its leaders and cadres.
