President Yadav awards top three teams of the running shield
President Dr Ram Baran Yadav awarded the top three teams of the Presidents' Running Shield Championship at President's office, Shital Niwas, on Friday.
Western region were crowned the champions of the competition with 223 points, Central region finished second, having 24 points adrift of the champions, while the Mid West region claimed third position with 192 points.
Eastern region and Far West region finished fourth and fifth respectively. The top three teams were awarded with Rs 25,000, 20,000 and 15,000 respectively.
Meanwhile, Ashish Chaudhary of Central region concluded the championship with three records, with the last one coming in the final day. Chaudhary posted a new record in boys' 200m with the timing of 22.5 seconds. Chaudhary surpassed Bimal Basnet's record of 22.9 seconds, created a day earlier.
Central and Western claimed volleyball gold in the girls' and boys' events respectively.
