Defeated Madhesi parties to unify
KATHMANDU, DEC 05 - Leaders of Madhes-based parties, who were defeated in the second Constituent Assembly (CA) elections, have decided to merge together into a single force.
Attributing the causes of their defeat to lack of unification, cooperation and alliance, the Madhesi leaders have made up their mind to become united.
The Madhesi Janadhikar Forum- Ganatantrik (MJF-G), Sanghiya Sadbhawana Party (SSP), Madhesh Tarai Forum (MTF) and Nepal Sadbhawana Party (NSP) have been striving for party unification.
At a joint press meet organised in the Capital on Thursday, the four Madhesi parties have announced their decision to amalgamate and vie for Madhes.
Speaking at the program, MJF (G) Chairman Raj Kishor Yadav said lack of unity and cooperation between the Madhesi parties led to their defeat in the CA election .
In a joint press statement, the Madhesi parties have claimed that various incidents, facts and conducts have proven that the results of November 19 CA election s was premeditated, expected, rigged and conspiratorial.
The defeated parties have further alleged that the forces fighting for change and rights were deliberately kept out from the CA in a premeditated manner, thereby turning the CA into a platform of status quoists and change-resistant forces.
The joint press statement signed by MJF-G Chairman Raj Kishor Yadav, SSP Chairman Anil Kumar Jha, MTF Chairman Amar Yadav and spokesperson of NSP (Sarita Giri), Prawin Labh, has stated that other parties will also be brought onboard during party unification.
