Two Nepalis killed in Malaysia's bus accident
KUALA LUMPUR , AUG 25 - Two Nepali people have been killed in a fatal road accident in Malaysia recently. In a bus accident that took place in Malaysia last Thursday, 35 other Malaysians were also killed .
The passenger bus heading towards the capital city of Kuala Lumpur from the Genting Highlands plummeted some 60 feet down the road near a Chinese Temple.
The local media have reported that two Nepalis—Nagendra Rai and Prem Bahadur Budhamagar were killed in the accident. Their body has been kept at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for postmortem.
The Nepali Embassy in Malaysia said that they have not received any official information regarding the incident. The Embassy, however, informed that they are due to reach the Hospital tomorrow to learn about the incident.
According to the local media, 24 males and 13 females were killed in the fatal accident. Amongst them, only 14 are the Malaysian natives while the rest of them are the natives of Bangladesh, Indonesia, Thailand, Korea, and Nepal.
Six others were injured in the incident. They have been receiving treatment at Kuala Lumpur-based hospitals.
It has been learnt that the bus might have met with the accident as it was carrying more number of passengers than its capacity.
