Gautam warns of action against disobedient cadres

KATHMANDU, AUG 22 - CPN-UML Vice Chairman Bam Dev Gautam has said that his party would take action against those turning a deaf ear to the directive of party chairman.

Noting the increasing tendency of disregarding the directions of party chairman in almost all the political parties, Gautam said there are certain leaders in the CPN-UML who do not comply with the directive of party Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal.

At a programme organised in the Capital on Thursday, the UML vice chairman said the disputes within the party would be resolved by taking action against such individuals. He claimed that UML will emerge as the largest party in the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) elections and that the other parties making such claims would be second, third and fourth.

Gautam claimed that the CPN-Maoist led by Mohan Baidya would show readiness to come to elections within the next few days. He expressed his confidence that the CPN-Maoist would show readiness to come to the elections within the next 10-15 days as the party has the fear of being boycotted.

He further said that the CA elections would be held on the slated date of November 19 as the people and political parties have been getting ready for the elections.

"We can't accept the proposal that only proposes for deferring the election date," said Gautam.
