Police 'refuse' to file murder case

PARSA, AUG 22 - The District Police Office (DPO) in Parsa has refused to file a complaint on an alleged murder case at Subarnapur-4 that took place 45 days ago, the victim's family has claimed.

The parents of Kamalesh Dusadh, whose body was found on July 9, said police did not record their complaint despite their repeated pleas. Ignored by the police, they also tried unsuccessfully to file the complaint by writing to the District Administration Office on August 11.

“The suspects are moving freely, but police have refused to record our complaint,” lamented Bhagan Dusadh, the victim's father.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Basudev Khatiwada said police cannot record a complaint on any incident without completing the investigation.

“We suspect that Kamalesh had consumed poison, so we are waiting for the viscera test report to confirm our suspicion,” DSP Khatiwada said.

Bhagan and his wife Manati Hajara said Kamalesh had suffered deep cut wound on the back of his head and injury to his eyes. The couple have accused Jawahir, Lagan, Birendra, Maya Devi and Lalan Hajara of murdering their son.

“My son was killed because I had reported to the District Administration Office that Jawahir had procured fake academic certificates and citizenship,” Bhagan said.

DSP Khatiwada said they cannot record the complaint based on conjectures and make random arrests. “We don't want to rush and arrest innocent people.”
