YCL calls Chitwan banda

UCPN (Maoist) youth wing, Young Communist League has called Chitwan banda on Thursday demanding to release its arrested cadres.
Normal life has been crippled in the district due to the banda .
Entire market areas, academic institutions have been shut down and transportation has come to a grinding halt in the district.
Meanwhile, the irate cadres vandalised an ambulance (Na 2 Cha 4488) at Haakimchowk, Bharatpur-10 for carrying staffs this morning.
Large numbers of security personnel have been deployed in the area to contain unwanted situation.
The YCL cadres resorted to protest after ward police office detained six of its cadres on Tuesday for extorting a businessman in Narayangad.
The arrestees have been identified as Uttam Gurung, Madhuraj Neupane, Bharat Magar, Manoj Kumar Sherpa, Rabi Parajuli and Bishal Marhattha. According to the police, they have obtained court orders to keep the arrested YCL men in custody. “We have started investigations and the suspects will be treated according to the law,” said Superintendent of Police Pradhyuman Karki.
Meanwhile, YCL has said that they would not withdraw banda until their cadres are released.
On Tuesday, a big group of YCL cadres stormed the Narayangad Area Police Office and demanded immediate release of their friends. The YCL cadres assaulted officers when the police refused to give in.
