CPN-Maoist should participate in CA polls: Pokharel
DANG, JUL 01 - CPN-UML secretary Shanker Pokharel has urged the agitating CPN-Maoist to take decisions favoring the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) elections.
Speaking at an interaction programme organised in Dang district on Monday, Pokharel underscored the need for dialogues to resolve all the pending issues.
“Questions would be raised against Chairman of Interim Election Council Khil Raj Regmi, President Ram Baran Yadav, major four political parties and senior leaders of major parties if the CA polls were not to be held on the slated time,” Pokharel said.
Also on the occasion, Pokharel said the present government should be ready to go ahead with the poll plans even if the poll-opposing parties including the CPN-Maoist ignore to participate in the polls despite frequent calls for talks.
In another context, Pokharel said Baburam Bhattarai’s resignation from the post of Vice Chairman of UCPN (Maoist) has no significance in the domestic political scenario.
