ANHS becomes Caorc member
KATHMANDU, JUL 12 - The board of the Council of American Overseas Research Center (Caorc) has awarded a full membership to the Association for Nepal and Himalayan Studies Kathmandu Center (ANHS).
Welcoming the recent decision ANHS Executive Director Manohar Upadhyay said they would further strengthen the academic environment for research in Nepal in the future.
Founded in 1971 as the Nepal Studies Association, the institution adopted its current name in 1999 to reflect a widening member base and area of interest. Over the years, the association has broadened its mandate to cover the entire Himalayan region and adjacent mountain areas to gain recognition as a Caorc centre.
