Abducted youth found murdered in Mahottari
MAHOTTARI, JUL 29 - A youth who was abducted on Saturday evening from Sasaula -4 VDC in Mahottari has been found murdered on Monday.
The body of 21-year-old Bikram Sahani, resident of Sarpallo-3 VDC in the district, was found this afternoon, according to Superintendent of Police Ram Prasad Shrestha. Sahani was reportedly kidnapped by an unidentified gang while he was returning home on his bicycle after selling fish at the Pokharbhinda Bazaar.
Police suspect that the boy was killed by the kidnappers. His eyes were covered with a cloth, mouth filled with sand and hands and legs were found fractured, SP Shrestha said.
Police said that they have been preparing to send his body to the District Hospital in Jaleshwor for postmortem.
According to the Sahani family, kidnappers had called them at around 10:00 AM on Sunday and demanded a ransom of Rs. one million.
Following kidnappers' call, the family contacted the police only to receive another call from the abductors warning of further consequences.
Meanwhile, an armed outfit of Jwala Singh faction, has claimed the responsibility for the killing of Sahani. Police said that they were investigating the case.
Earlier on Sunday, an-all party meeting of different political parties and human rights activists expressed serious concerns over the increasing incidents of criminal activities in the district and submitted a memorandum to the District Police Office, demanding security. RSS
