Post Edufair grand success: Organisers
KATHMANDU, JUL 30 -
The Kathmandu Post Career Edufair 2013, organised by the Kantipur Publications in association with the Global Education Counselling Centre, concluded formally on Monday.
Speaking at the closing ceremony organised in Kathmandu, Chairman and Managing Director of the Kantipur Publications Kailash Sirohiya thanked all exhibitors, participants and supporters for their contribution towards making the fair a grand success.
Stating that it is the right of students to get proper information about their career, Sirohiya claimed that the fair served real motive behind organising it. “We have achieved a great success in our second attempt and we are still learning,” he said. “I assure you it will be grader next year.”
Over 133,000 people visited the three-day fair held in Bhrikutimandap.
Also addressing the event, Akhilesh Upadhyay, editor-in-chief of The Kathmandu Post, said goodwill of the organisers was the main reason behind the huge influx of students in the fair. He said the participation of representatives from the Consular Section of the US Embassy in the fair, a new initiative of the publications, equally benefited students.
He said representatives from other embassies in Kathmandu, including that of Australia, the UK, India and Bangladesh, will also participate in the third iteration of the fair to be held in 2014. All the exhibitors and sponsors were provided with the token of love and letters of appreciation during the event. “Many of us were sceptical about the fair before its beginning, but it turned out to be a huge success,” said Mahesh Swar, chief marketing officer of the publications.
