Change your working style, Fin Min tells govt officials

KATHMANDU, JUL 25 -
Finance Minister Shankar Prasad Koirala has directed the government officials to bring changes in their working style and make them more public and service oriented.

During a meeting of departmental chiefs under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Minister Koirala, who also heads the ministry, cautioned the officials of growing public complains and directed them to make no compromise on such issues. Minister Koirala also directed to make a tech-friendly and coordinated workplace.

Minister Koirala said that though some improvements were made in the Company Register Office and Department of Industry, public complaints against Department of Food Technology and Quality Control has still not gone down. He also directed to take action against the officials assisting in tampering the taxis meters in the Capital.

Saying that the defaming image of organisations in direct relation with public would not go down well with him, Koirala said, "Don't create such environment where I have to walk with my head down."

The meeting analysed on last year and also discussed the issues to be dwelt upon this year.
