Kathmandu Post Career Edufair 2013 enters final day

KATHMANDU, JUL 28 -
The Kathmandu Post Career Edufair 2013, organised by the Kantipur Publications in association with Global Education Counselling Centre, entered the third and final day in the Capital on Sunday.

The mega event was jointly inaugurated by Suresh Raj Sharma, an education expert and former Vice-Chancellor of Kathmandu University, and Chairman and Managing Director of Kantipur Publications Kailash Sirohiya at Bhrikutimandap in the capital on Friday.

More than 56,000 people interacted with representatives of national and international institutes on the second day yesterday. According to organisers, with more enthusiastic crowds on the second day, the event drew 81,000 visitors in just two days.

On Saturday, pop singers Sugam Pokhrel and Indira Joshi rocked the event with their greatest hits, enthralling visitors for more than an hour.

Participated by more than 130 institutions under one roof, the fair has provided visitors with an opportunity to interact directly with representatives of several colleges, get the best counselling possible for furthering their academic careers and learn about the education system, courses of study, scholarships and the academic environment of the country they want to go to.

Representatives from the US Embassy in Nepal have been providing students with the first-hand information on visa regulation and processing for the colleges in the US on the daily basis. Colleges from India, Bangladesh, China and Thailand as well as those renowned ones in the country have provided students with a number of choices, including comparison between educational programmes run by different colleges.

The event aims to serve as a bridge between various institutions and students who are eager for educational and professional opportunities in and out of the country.
