Leader Gyawali confident of timely CA poll
BIRGUNJ, JUL 26 - CPN-UML leader Pradeep Gyawali said on Friday that the Constituent Assembly (CA) election slated for November 19 would be held at any cost.
Speaking at a party programme in Parsa today, leader Gyawali, also the chief of the party's liaison department, said election was a must in democracy and that the political parties should not make it a matter of compromise.
"The only alternative for bringing back the country in right and legal track is conducting CA election and that it cannot be postponed further by anyone's power," said the former Minister.
He claimed that there were enough indications that UML could come out as the largest party at the upcoming CA election .
Those who are afraid of the UML and do not want to institutionalise democracy are tempted to disrupt the election process, he added.
He urged the UML leaders and cadres to reach out to people in the villages keeping in mind the upcoming election.
The leader opined that all the democratic forces should unite and move ahead against the anti-election forces.
UML central committee member Achyut Mainali, and UML leader Ram Chandra Saha, among others, discussed the party's responsibility and duties in the current political scenario.
