Bhandari rules out unity with CPN-Maoist
SAPTARI, JUL 25 - Rastriya Madhes Samajbadi Party (RMSP) Chairman Sharat Singh Bhandari has said that the CPN-Maoist led by Mohan Baidya would join the Constituent Assembly (CA) election process if all-party consensus was forged.
Speaking at a press conference organised by RMSP in Saptari on Thursday, Chairman Bhandari said," Poll opposing parties will not join the election process as the current government and major four political parties are only going to hold the CA election for their interests.
"Baidya-led CPN-Maoist, and RMSP among other poll opposing political parties also join the election process if environment for the CA election was created by forging consensus among the political parties," he said.
He said RMSP was also for not holding election in status quo, however, he ruled out the possibility of working unity with the CPN-Maoist.
"CPN-Maoist Chairman Baidya is also talking about the prospects of boycotting election but we are not for this, therefore, working in unity with the CPN-Maoist is not possible," said Bhandari.
Chairman Bhandari related his remark regarding the relief distribution to flood victims of Darchula district in active involvement of the members of the former royal family, and said it was against the election code of conduct.
He reiterated that it was right to distribute relief but it was against the election laws to distribute relief to fulfill political goal at a time when CA election date was declared and election code of conduct has been effective. RSS
