2 killed in Pyuthan rockslide
PYUTHAN, JUL 11 -
An engineer and a technician at Rolpa District Development Committee were killed when their jeep was hit by a rockslide at Lamachaur in Pyuthan district on Thursday morning.
Engineer Dev Raj Acharya and technician Lok Bahadur Khadka were killed when rocks fell on the jeep (Ba 1 Jha 8822) in which they were traveling along the Bhalubang- Pyuthan road stretch.
Police said that Acharya died on the spot while Khadka breathed his last on his way to district hospital in Bijuwar.
One Bhuwan Shrestha and driver Subash Bista have been critically injured in the accident. They are receiving medical treatment at the district hospital.
Torrential rainfall has blocked the Bhalubang- Pyuthan roads at various sections.
Police said the injured could not be taken outside the district for treatment due to the road blockage.
