Govt welcomes CPN-Maoist's readiness for talks
KATHMANDU, JUL 18 - The government has invited the alliance of 33-parties led by CPN-Maoist to come to the talks table with the High Level Political Mechanism.
A Cabinet meeting held on Thursday welcomed the readiness shown by CPN-Maoist to sit for talks by forming a committee for the same.
"The government is ready to resolve the crisis through talks," said Minister for Information and Communications Madhav Poudel after the meeting. "The government again calls on the alliance of 33 parties led by CPN-Maoist to come for dialogue."
Likewise, the Cabinet meet has accepted the necessary appointments for the proposed offices of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to be opened in all five development regions. The government is planning to set up regional offices of CIAA in Dipayal, Surkhet, Pokhara, Hetauda and Dhankuta.
The government has promoted Nepal Army Directorate of Development, Colonel Sarad Lal Shrestha, to the post of Brigadier General. The meeting has approved the UK visit of (CoAS) Gen Gaurav SJB Rana. Chief of General Staff of British Army has invited CoAS Rana for a seven-day visit to the UK.
According to Minister Poudel, the Cabinet has decided to grant residential visa to 16 foreign specialist doctors of Patan Health Science Academy and the families dependent on them.
