Power outage 5hrs from Wednesday
KATHMANDU, JUL 02 -
Nepal Electricity Authority ( NEA ) has decided to decrease the average load shedding hours to five hours a day.
The new schedule will come into effect from Wednesday.
The increase in water level in the rivers feeding the major hydropower projects in the country with the continuous rainfall has contributed to a slight increase in the power supply in recent times, said Bhuwan Chhetri, chief of NEA ’s Load Dispatch Centre. With no major hydropower projects in the pipeline, consumers across the country are unlikely to get a full respite from power shortage, particularly during the winter at least for the next five years.
