HLPC to invite disgruntled parties for talks Parties committed to draft constitution within one year
KATHMANDU, JUL 17 -A meeting of High Level Political Committee has decided to send a formal letter to the poll opposing parties including the CPN-Maoist to come to negotiation table.
The HLPC meeting held at committee's office in New Baneshwor under the chairmanship of UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Wednesday decided to make preparations to initiate talks with the disgruntled parties from Thursday to persuade them to participate in the Constituent Assembly (CA) election, HLPC member and UCPN (M) Vice Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha said.
Likewise, the meeting also decided to prepare first draft of the constitution within six months and to give full shape to the constitution within the remaining six months time following November polls .
The deadline of the new CA will be of four years. The CA will continue the works of legislature-parliament following the conclusion of constitution drafting, sources said.
Meanwhile, the HLPC meeting has been summoned again on Thursday evening to decide the number of electoral constituencies.
