KATHMANDU, JUL 21 - A charitable committee formed to facilitate treatment of former minister and leader of Prajantantrik Janamukti Party, Gore Bahadur Khapangi , has demanded the government provide financial assistance for his treatment.

Coordinator of Gore Bahadur Khapangi Magar Treatment Assistance Committee, Shankar Limbu has said that the demand of financial assistance for medical treatment to former minister Khapangi has fallen on deaf ears. The health condition of Khapangi has deteriorated since he was hit by a motorcycle hit at Exhibition Road near the Rastirya Sabha Griha in the Capital some two months ago.

He has been receiving treatment at Norvic Hospital in the Capital for the past two months.

According to a statement released by the committee, hospital sources have said that Khapangi, who has sustained injuries in his head, can be treatment at hospitals in Singapore or Medanta Hospital in New Delhi.

The committee has also said that they had received only about 200,000 rupees from indigenous groups and government. But about 2 million rupees has been spent in Khapangi's treatment, the committee said.

The committee has also rued the government apathy towards the treatment of ailing Khapangi.
