CDC requests govt to extend its deadline
KATHMANDU, AUG 01 -
The Constituency Delimitation Commission (CDC) has again requested the government to extend its term by 10 more days on Thursday.
The CDC made such request stating that they could not meet the deadline to accomplish given tasks in the given time frame.
CDC Chairman Tahir Ali Ansari submitted a letter for the same to Chairman of Interim Election Government Khil Raj Regmi on Wednesday night, CDC Spokesperson Tek Prasad Dhunaga said.
Last Monday, the government had appointed Chuda Raj Upteri as the member of CDC following the resignation by Madhu Nidhi Tiwari.
According to Dhungana, they decided to request for the deadline extension as newly appointed Upreti needs time to study the tasks carried out by the CDC till date and to participate in the CDC's decision making.

Earlier also, the government had extended CDC's term to redraw the constituencies for second Constituent Assembly elections by 10 days.
The government had formed the commission headed by former Chief Justice Ansari on June 19
Geologist Netra Dhital, sociologist Dambar Chemjong and Upreti are the members of the commission and legal secretary at the Prime Minister's office Raju Man Singh Malla is the member secretary of the commission.
