'Maoists and royalists will come together'
KATHMANDU, JUL 24 - Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPPN) Chairman Kamal Thapa has claimed that there will be collaboration between the Maoists and the royalists if the Constituent Assembly polls slated for November 19 were foiled.
Thapa was speaking at an interaction programme organised by the Reporters Club in Kathmandu on Wednesday. Former Home Minister Thapa also claimed that if the scheduled CA polls were to be foiled, it would be because of the four major parties and not the CPN-Maoist.
"In that case, Maoists , royalists and all the nationalist forces will come together for a movement to safeguard nationalism , and that would not be stopped by anyone," said Thapa.
He added that he was in constant contact with CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidya and Secretaries Netra Bikram Chand and Dev Gurung.
Leader Thapa welcomed Mohan Baidya's statement regarding possible collaboration with former King to safeguard nationalism , adding that national independence was in peril and that a join effort from the nationalist forces was required for the same.
Recent statements by responsible leaders like Shanshank Koirala and Mohan Baidya further clarifies that monarchy in Nepal is still relevant, claimed Thapa.
