CPN-Maoist torch election code of conduct
KAVRE, AUG 01 - The CPN-Maoist , which has announced to boycott the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) elections, on Thursday torched copies of election code of conduct endorsed by the Election Commission (EC).
CPN-Maoist District Committee, Kavre, set fire to the copies of election code of conduct 2070 released by the EC on July 10. The party torched the copies at four places targeting four constituencies of the district.
"We torched the copies of election code of conduct to protest against the Election Commission," said Deepak Devkota, district in-charge of the CPN-Maoist . "We will continue our phase-wise struggle programme against the election in the coming days."
An extended meeting of the party's district committee had finalised its first phase struggle programme aimed at boycotting the elections.
