Sadhbhawana merges with armed outfit.
KATHMANDU, JUL 02 - Samyukta Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (Kautilya group), an armed outfit active in Tarai, has formally merge d with Rajendra Mahato-led Sadbhawana Party (SP) on Tuesday.

The underground outfit, led by Sanjay Kumar Gupta alias Kautilya Sharma, was active in the southern plains for the past few years. Only last year, the outfit had forged a five-point agreement with the government and had given up its armed movement.

In a press meet organised at the Reporters’ Club today, the two parties announced their unification, claiming it was done to ensure the rights of indigenous, Madhesi, Dalit and oppressed classes through a peaceful movement.

It has been said that Gupta will head Sadhbhawana Party’s sister organisation whereas other top leaders, including coordinator Rabi Dutta Mishra, will be nominated in the party's Central Committee.

Addressing the function, Chairman Rajendra Mahato said the unification has given a message to the country to find solution through peaceful means.

He informed that the SP is making efforts to unify scores of other parties including Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party (TMLP).

On a different note, leader Mahato said the country will never witness fresh elections if the demand to dissolve the current government as put forth by the dissenting parties are fulfilled.
