Lyricist Gauchan's last rites performed

The last rites of poet and lyricist Binod Gauchan was performed at Ramghat, Pokhara on Sunday. Gauchan's only son, Saugat, 12, performed the last rituals.
People from different sector were present in the funeral procession that started from Shivalaya Chowk in Pokhara. Gauchan breathed his last on Saturday and was bid farewell in traditional Buddhist funeral. During the funeral ceremony, littérateur Saru Bhakta and Tirtha Shrestha said that with the nation has lost one of the multi-talented personalities with Gauchan's death.
There was an ample presence of actors, businessmen, littérateur, among others, from Pokhara, during the funeral.
Gauchan was unwell since the past three months and was being treated in the ICU since five days at the Western Zonal Hospital.
Jati Maya Laye Pani, Tagaroma Rumal Rakhi, Kasto Thaunma Phulyou Timi are some of the well known songs of Gauchan. Likewise, "Pokharama Phool Phuldaina" and "Dhunge Sanghuko Mela" are his published poem collection. Gauchan has established a name for himself as a lyricist who wrote few but exceptional lyrics.
