Lekhi demands deferral in polls date
KATHMANDU, OCT 01 -
Rastriya Nagarik Party Chairman Raj Kumar Lekhi has demanded to postpone the date for the Constituent Assembly election.
Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, Lekhi said that election was not like festivals whose dates were unchangeable. He has warned that conducting election by disregarding the poll-opposing party would push the country into conflict.
The statement has further claimed that the uncompromising character shown by the four party-led High Level Political Mechanism in deferring the polls date was fading the chances of holding election.
Lekhi, in the statement, has said that his party was for resolving the current political deadlock through election. He has also said that his party will not oppose the election but also will not take party in it.
